Steak Taka
A moment to unwind in the city.
Monzen-nakacho steakhouse Steak Taka serves seared Wagyu hamburg steaks with rare centres, sirloin and skirt steaks, and rice sets accompanied by a small portion of curry for a satisfying meat-focused meal.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Arriving on a sizzling hot iron plate, the Wagyu hamburg steak makes an impression with its aromatic seared crust giving way to a tender, moist rare interior upon slicing. The residual heat of the plate lets diners cook the patty to their personal preference, whether that means savouring the naturally supple texture and overflowing juices as they are or letting it cook through thoroughly to seal in the savoury depth. Seasonings on the table—such as rock salt, mustard, and the accompanying sauce—allow the flavours to shift agreeably from one bite to the next.
For a full meal, the set that supplements rice, soup, and salad with a small portion of curry provides a hearty foundation. Guests can alternate between the meat and spoonfuls of curry over rice, or customise their platter by adding toppings such as melted cheese or a fried egg. Hamburg patties are available in 130 g and 200 g sizes, with options to switch to grated daikon or teriyaki preparations, as well as a stew-topped version.
When steak is the main focus, combination plates stand out, including the Harami Double Steak pairing rump with skirt, and the Sirloin Double Steak matching rump with sirloin. These platters offer an engaging way to compare the lean texture and delicate fat sweetness of different cuts side by side. Depending on mood and party size, the kitchen also offers Wagyu tenderloin, Wagyu chateaubriand, and assorted trimmings.
During evening hours, starters like skirt steak tataki, seared heart tataki, and salted offal platters pair well with highballs, draught beer, or a selection of wines by the glass. Rounding off the meal with fragrant garlic fried rice makes the experience equally suited to a solo dinner or a casual group gathering built around quality beef.
